One time explanation:
I’ve suffered insomnia as far back as I can remember. As a kid being scared of the dark I’d lie terrified all night. As a teenager being awake all night was my alone time. Once I was of legal age, it was party fun time. In my 20’s it was productive time. Now in my 30’s it sucks the life right out of me, and plays tricks with my mind.
I’ve learned ways to keep it regularly at bay, yet certain triggers flare it up. This past week’s extreme weather changes did just that. I can fumble somewhat capably and coherently through my days, but at nights when I am able to lie back and give up trying to be functional for a few short hours my tired brain through sleep deprivation induced delirium – kind of a half asleep dream like state – occasionally comes up with things I on a normal day would not. Creating an online persona is a funny thing. How do you come up with a name that sums up who you are and what you have to offer in a few simple key words that hasn’t already been used, that’s memorable and relatable? After a couple of days of struggling with this very thing and scratching every idea that seemed (ugh) poignant, relevant or witty I called a friend for some support, and went back to the beginning.
